Pump up those tires, straighten out those rims and polish your helmet. Hobart’s celebration of the bicycle is on again this Friday with the coolest cats set to join peak hour traffic in a peaceful show of courteous road use and finely toned quad muscles. Be there for free spot prizes, reflective tape, puncture kits and refreshments.

Riding to Falls
January 25, 2009
Ten courageous folk put bikes on the road between Hobart and Marion Bay on the 29th and 30th of December in a bid to get to the Falls Festival Car free. While 5 were local, the rest hailed from Darwin and showed the Tasman Hwy a thing or two about confidence! Bike Parking was facilitated at the festival and maxed out at 12 bikes at one stage. While the car trip back took up to 8 hours for some folks because of the police breath testing, the bikes made it back to Hobart in only four hours.
Riding to Queenstown

Healthy Transport Hobart kept the road alive between Hobart and Queenstown in mid-january with team rider Liam Correy sussing out the road condition. For anyone keen to head out that way, it is highly recommended, with some spectacular views and long windy ascents and descents! Who said you need a car to get to the West Coast?
